The GVM PRO SD650B 650W COB video light is designed for demanding studio photography, filmmaking, YouTube production, live streaming, interviews, commercial shoots, and location work. With up to 650 watts of output, a wide 2700K to 6800K bi-color range, CRI of 97 or higher, Bowens mount compatibility, Bluetooth Mesh app control, DMX/RDM support, RF control, and multiple fan modes, this is a very capable professional lighting system. In this video, I start with a complete GVM PRO SD650B unboxing and show what comes inside the supplied carrying case. We then install the light on a stand, attach the included Bowens reflector, connect the separate control ballast, and take a closer look at the physical controls and menu system.

The separate controller provides direct access to brightness, color temperature, fan settings, dimming curves, DMX configuration, wireless controls, and system information. The SD650B can operate from AC power or two compatible V-mount batteries, making it suitable for both studio and location lighting setups.

I also demonstrate the GVM mobile app, which allows wireless adjustment of brightness and color temperature through Bluetooth Mesh. The app provides access to Source Matching modes and built-in lighting effects, and it makes controlling the fixture especially convenient when the light is mounted high or positioned away from the camera.
