The Asus TUF A15 is one of the best mid-range gaming laptops of the year, thanks principally to the AMD 8-core Ryzen 7 4800H APU that can be found beating at its core. Throw in the speedy 1TB NVMe SSD and RTX 2060 graphics, and you’ve got yourself a hell of a workhorse for a non-workstation gaming laptop. In our study, we called the TUF A15 an “incredibly handy, affordable gaming laptop, with a battery life that is nearly unparalleled at this price point or performance level.” Created for durability, TUF Gaming laptops undergo extra endurance tests to face a bit more than your normal everyday use. Specs-wise, it’s outfitted with a 2.9 GHz AMD Ryzen 7 4800H eight-core processor, a 1TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD, 16GB of DDR4 memory, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2060 graphics card. With these combined, the system will be capable to quickly boot apps as well as run graphically demanding games. Its 15.6″ display is made with an IPS panel highlighting a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution for clear details and a quick 144 Hz refresh rate for decreased blur. Its keyboard has customizable RGB backlighting, and other notable characteristics include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, an HDMI port, USB Type-A and Type-C ports, speakers, microphones, a webcam, and a combo audio jack. The operating system introduced is Windows 10 Home.
We enjoyed Acer’s Predator Helios 300 during the GTX 10-series period, and the current-gen Helios still finds to punch above its weight class when related to other $1,500 laptops. The 2020 model Helios returns with an RTX 2070 Max-Q GPU and a smoother form factor without increasing the price significantly. The new and upgraded Helios 300 has a 240 Hz IPS screen and smaller bezels, putting it more in line with sleek thin-and-lights than its more bulky brethren of the prior generation. It comes with sharply curved edges with a black interior and exterior that make the device standout design. It’s equipped with a standard yet stunning 15.6″ FHD Widescreen LED-backlit IPS display with a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The device is programmed with a 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms overdrive acknowledgement time to help you power through each frame in the game effortlessly. Coming round to the processor and the overall performance, the brand has taken care of that too. It is powered by the latest 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10750H 6-Core Processor And NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 with 6GB GDDR6 VRAM for storage. All of this, coupled with the windows 10 OS, assures that you can experience a smoother user experience beyond your imagination. It doesn’t glitch or stop in between the games, even when online streaming of some heavy-duty games, which is excellent. Lastly, it comes with improved wireless connectivity with Killer Double Shot Pro Wireless-AX 1650i 802.11ax WiFi 6. Like the patent design in nearly every gaming laptop, even this one comes designed with the stunning RGB-backlit keyboard for an overall enhanced gaming experience.
The Predator is a warm-blooded beast, operating hot as it pads along, stalking the weak, unwary next-gen games from the shadows. When it hits, it does so majestically, gulping its prey at a swift 81 FPS average. Linked with a profoundly responsive 300Hz screen, it’s an apex machine, not to be flirted with. With such a slender form, you wouldn’t assume it to be as powerful as it is, but that helps it blend in with its non-gaming counterparts.
